BMC Introduces Electrified Teammachine 01 AMP Road Race Bicycle

BMC has officially launched the electrified version of its top-tier road race bike, the Teammachine 01 AMP, marking a significant expansion of its electric bicycle offerings. This new model joins the brand's existing electric lineup, providing a more performance-oriented option for riders who prioritize speed and agility, contrasting with the endurance focus of the Roadmachine AMP. The Teammachine 01 AMP incorporates a super-light TQ mid-drive motor, building upon the advanced carbon construction, aerodynamic design, and aesthetic principles established with the traditional Teammachine SLR.

This innovative electric road bike is engineered for both efficiency and comfort. The TQ-HPR40 motor, known for its compact design and found in other e-road models like the Ridley E-Noah and Scott Fastlane, offers 200W of power assistance, boosting rider effort by up to 160% to conquer climbs and extend distances. With a 290Wh integrated battery, the bike boasts an impressive range of approximately 130km in Eco mode for an 80kg rider, with an optional 160Wh range extender available for even longer journeys. To further enhance climbing capabilities, BMC has equipped the Teammachine 01 AMP with a double chainset. Additionally, for a smoother ride, especially for casual cyclists, the bike features wider 34mm tires, an AeroShape seatpost, an ICS Carbon Evo integrated cockpit, and an AeroCore bottle cage that accommodates the range extender. Safety features include a built-in OLED color display for vital ride metrics and a 20-lumen rear light with a 180-degree beam pattern.

The Teammachine 01 AMP is offered in three distinct build configurations, reflecting a range of price points and component choices. The entry-level AMP Three, priced at €7,999, comes equipped with a Shimano 105 Di2 drivetrain. Stepping up, the AMP Two, at €9,499, features an Ultegra Di2 groupset. The pinnacle of the series is the AMP One, commanding €13,499, which boasts a Dura-Ace Di2 setup. These variations ensure that both avid racers and leisure riders can find a model that suits their performance needs and budget, making advanced e-road cycling technology accessible to a broader audience.
