Continental has introduced a new 50mm variant of its highly regarded Dubnital tire, originally celebrated for its performance as a cross-country mountain bike component. This new size aims to redefine the experience for gravel racing enthusiasts, offering an optimal blend of speed, traction, and robustness suitable for a broader spectrum of contemporary gravel bicycles.

Previously, the 55mm Dubnital gained popularity among riders who could accommodate its size within their gravel frames, appreciating its capability to maintain velocity across diverse and demanding landscapes. The introduction of the 50mm dimension significantly expands its compatibility, making it accessible to a larger segment of the gravel biking community.

Rosa Klöser, a professional cyclist sponsored by Continental and victor of the Unbound 200, expressed considerable enthusiasm for the new 50mm Dubnital. She highlighted its importance for gravel riders, emphasizing how its optimal sizing for most gravel bikes would greatly enhance rider confidence. Klöser specifically praised its exceptional grip and braking control, which allow riders to maximize their speed through turns, particularly in technical sections.

Klöser further underscored the tire's broad appeal, characterizing it as a versatile and dependable choice for cyclists seeking additional comfort, superior grip, and extended durability without compromising on pace. This perspective positions the 50mm Dubnital not merely as a tool for competitive racers but also as a premium option for any gravel enthusiast desiring a resilient and high-performing tire.

The 50mm Dubnital incorporates the established tread design that features a smooth central section for efficient rolling and aggressive shoulder lugs for superior traction. This construction ensures rapid straight-line travel while providing essential stability and grip during braking and cornering on varied surfaces, including both dry and damp conditions. These attributes were key factors in the positive reception of the wider Dubnital model.

Consistent with other products in its line, the new Dubnital is compatible with tubeless setups and hookless rims. Riders can select between two casing options: a 'Race' version optimized for maximum speed and a 'Trail' option designed for increased durability, catering to different riding preferences and conditions.

Ultimately, the 50mm size of the Continental Dubnital brings all the celebrated advantages of its wider predecessor—such as reduced rolling resistance, strong puncture protection, and lightweight construction—to the forefront of modern gravel cycling, making these benefits available to the latest generation of high-performance gravel bikes.
