Hunt Unveils New Lightweight 4AM Limitless Aero Wheels with Carbon and Steel Spoke Choices

Hunt Wheels introduces its latest innovation, the 4AM Limitless wheelset, following the success of its 5AM Limitless series. These new wheels are engineered for responsive handling and top-tier aerodynamic performance, particularly in challenging mountainous environments. Available with either carbon or steel spokes, they aim to cater to diverse rider preferences while maintaining stability and speed.

The design of the 4AM Limitless wheels focuses on achieving an optimal balance between low weight and aerodynamic efficiency. Hunt employs a rigorous five-stage aerodynamic development process, which includes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, extensive wind tunnel testing, and real-world validation using Aerosensor technology. This comprehensive approach has led to a unique rim profile, featuring wider and deeper front rims for enhanced stability and control, paired with shallower and narrower rear rims to reduce weight and optimize power transfer.

A key feature of the 4AM Limitless wheels is their innovative spoke design. The carbon-spoked version utilizes Vonoa Ti-UD spokes, weighing a mere 1.7g each, with 15 spokes on the front wheel and 18 on the rear. These spokes have an elongated aerofoil shape, and their recessed nipples minimize rotational drag by ensuring minimal exposure to airflow. For precise adjustments, a specialized tool is required to prevent spoke rotation during truing, emphasizing the intricate engineering behind these wheels. They support both tubeless and inner tube setups. Additionally, Hunt now offers a steel-spoked option for the existing 5AM Limitless wheelset, providing a more accessible price point without compromising performance. The carbon-spoked 4AM wheelset starts at £1,959 with stainless steel bearings and £2,449 with CeramicSpeed bearings, while the steel-spoked version is available for £1,659.
