Quirk Cycles Debuts Exclusive Endurance Framesets in Collaboration with Rapha Founder

Quirk Cycles has introduced two exclusive limited-edition bicycle frames, the Mamtor and the Durmitor, marking a strategic shift from purely custom builds to small-batch production. These frames, crafted with meticulous attention to detail in London, represent a fusion of bespoke artistry and high-performance engineering. The Durmitor model, a collaborative effort with Rapha founder Simon Mottram, is specifically engineered for long-distance endurance rides, epitomizing comfort and efficiency. This venture aims to deliver highly sought-after, top-tier cycling equipment to a broader yet discerning clientele, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the brand's reputation for quality and innovation.

The Exclusive Mamtor: A Founder's Batch for Endurance Enthusiasts

The Mamtor endurance road bike frame, available in a Founder's Batch Edition, will see only 25 individually numbered units produced worldwide. Each frame is meticulously handcrafted in London, utilizing Columbus Life tubing complemented by bespoke 3D-printed stainless steel dropouts, head tube, and seat cluster. Further enhancing its exclusivity, every frame will boast a polished stainless steel Founder's head badge and unique numbering. Cyclists can choose from six sizes, ranging from XS to XL, and three distinct colors: Creighton Brown, Hyperion Azzuro (Light Blue), and Verde Gea Lucido (Gold). Purchasers will also receive a comprehensive Founder's Build Notes document, detailing the design philosophy behind the Mamtor, alongside an exclusive invitation to a private workshop ride and evening event in London.

Equipped with contemporary cycling standards, the Mamtor frameset features a tapered steerer ENVE carbon fork, 12mm thru-axles, a UDH derailleur hanger, and a T47 bottom bracket. It supports flat mount hydraulic braking systems and is exclusively designed for electronic gear setups, compatible with Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, and Campagnolo Wireless electronic road and gravel groupsets. Practicality is also considered, with mudguard mounts allowing for a maximum tire width of 30mm when fitted, or 40mm without. This limited production run of 25 frames can be pre-ordered until March 31, 2026, and will not be re-produced in this exact configuration. The frameset is priced at £4,999, representing a significant investment for a piece of cycling heritage.

Durmitor M2L Edition: Engineered for the Ultimate Challenge

Even more exclusive than the Mamtor, the Manchester to London Collector's Edition of the Durmitor frame is limited to just five units. This particular model is the result of a year-long development process with Rapha founder Simon Mottram, specifically tailored for the demanding 220-mile Manchester to London mega sportive. Mottram, a ten-time veteran of the M2L ride, emphasized the need for a bike that combines exceptional comfort with high ride quality and lightweight construction for long-distance events. To achieve this, the Durmitor M2L edition is constructed from Columbus Hyperion titanium tubes, paired with custom 3D-printed dropouts, head tube, and seat cluster made from 6/4 titanium, a significant upgrade from the 'regular' Durmitor's Columbus Spirit steel tubing. Mottram expressed his vision: "Comfort was my priority, but never at the expense of ride quality or weight. This is the bike I want to ride M2L – fast, reliable, and built to last a lifetime."

Each Durmitor M2L frameset is individually handcrafted in Rob Quirk's London workshop, showcasing a timeless aesthetic with brushed titanium and crisp white accents, suitable for a collector's item. The ENVE In-Route carbon fork, bar, and stem are hand-painted in white, adorned with the M2L logo. A unique feature is the inclusion of custom white M2L Tailfin top tube and half-frame bags, designed specifically for the frame. These bags attach seamlessly using recessed bolts, allowing for easy removal without compromising the bike's sleek lines or damaging the paintwork, unlike traditional Velcro straps. A custom 3D-printed Titanium 27.2mm seatpost, developed exclusively for this limited run, further enhances compliance and reduces fatigue during extended rides, with Rob Quirk's signature subtly incorporated at the rear of the seat rail clamp. The frameset and custom luggage package is priced at £9,250, with a generous £875 donation from each sale going to the national charity Ambitious about Autism.
