Red Bull Hardline BC Event Details Emerge, Featuring Extreme Drop and Rider Lineup

The Red Bull Hardline British Columbia competition is fast approaching, with just three weeks remaining until the highly anticipated event. Although specifics about the course have been scarce, it's widely anticipated to uphold its reputation for extreme difficulty. This event is renowned as the "world's toughest downhill race," blending the intense challenges of World Cup Downhill racing with the expansive, daring elements typical of freeride events like Rampage.

Originating in Wales in 2014, the Hardline series was established by the Atherton brothers. Following the introduction of a new venue in Tasmania in 2025, the competition is now making its North American debut at Cypress Mountain on Vancouver's North Shore.

Recently, a significant feature of the course—a daunting drop—was unveiled, providing the first real glimpse into the race's demanding nature. This impressive structure, a 25-foot by 25-foot wooden drop followed by a tight catch berm, was initially showcased on freeride legend Brett Tippie’s Instagram. A subsequent Red Bull post featured Dan Booker successfully navigating this formidable obstacle, demonstrating an unexpectedly deep jump that nearly cleared the entire upper section of the landing platform. The event will feature a robust lineup of male competitors, including Asa Vermette (USA), Bas van Steenbergen (CAN), Brendan Fairclough (UK), Bernard Kerr (UK), Charlie Hatton (UK), Dane Jewett (CAN), Felipe Agurto (CHL), Finn Iles (CAN), Hugo Frixtalon (FRA), Jackson Goldstone (CAN), Jakob Jewett (CAN), Johnathan Helly (CAN), Juanfer Vélez (COL), Kaos Seagrave (UK), Lachlan Stevens-McNab (NZL), Lucas Cruz (CAN), Mikey Delesalle (CAN), Roger Vieira (BRA), Rónán Dunne (IRL), Tegan Cruz (CAN), Théo Erlangsen (RSA), and Tuhoto-Ariki Pene (NZL). Additionally, four elite women will tackle the course: Gracey Hemstreet (CAN), Jess Blewitt (NZL), Lina Frener (AUT), and Mille Johnset (NOR). Dan Booker, Steve Vanderhoek, and Oli Clark are listed as standby riders, ready to step in if any primary competitors are unable to participate.
