Beyond battery enhancements, TACTACAM also asserts that these latest models deliver the highest image quality seen in their product line. Although the practical benefits of superior image clarity for hunting purposes might vary, the initial photographs I've examined are remarkably sharp and clear.

The entire design of the camera units has been revamped. Unlike older models where battery packs would slide out from the bottom, the new design integrates the battery into the bottom half of the camera, allowing it to slide on and off with ease, much like a power drill battery. This innovation necessitated relocating the door, screen, and controls to the side of the camera body.

Key distinctions exist between the two versions: the Pro 4.0 offers a selectable flash option between Low-Glow and No-Glow IR, features dual lenses, and includes a 2-inch LCD screen. The standard 4.0, however, is equipped only with a Low-Glow IR flash, a single lens, and no LCD screen.

For those seeking a complete power solution, the REVEAL Pro 4.0 Solar package combines a Pro 4.0 camera, an R5 battery, and a solar panel for $199. This bundle offers a notable saving compared to purchasing the components individually, which would cost $270.

The true value of these new TACTACAM REVEAL 4.0 and Pro 4.0 cameras remains to be fully determined. My initial deployment experiences have been positive, and the pricing appears competitive. While the claims of extended battery life are compelling, I need more extensive field use to verify these assertions. Currently, both REVEAL Pro 4.0s and REVEAL 4.0s are active in Illinois, with plans for additional deployments in Tennessee this week.
