Team USA Unveils Roster for Road World Championships in Montreal

USA Cycling has officially announced the lineup of athletes who will compete for the coveted rainbow jerseys at the upcoming Road World Championships in Montreal, Canada, later this month. This formidable team includes both established stars and promising newcomers, representing the nation's best in competitive cycling.

The elite men's squad will be spearheaded by Quinn Simmons, the reigning U.S. road race champion, who previously claimed the junior road world title in 2019. He will be joined by a strong contingent of WorldTour riders, including Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike), Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Sean Quinn (EF Education-EasyPost), Kevin Vermaerke (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost), and Artem Shmidt (Netcompany INEOS). Shmidt secured his spot in both the road race and individual time trial by winning the 2026 elite national time trial title. Larry Warbasse of Tudor Pro Cycling Team completes the men's elite roster. Notably, Brandon McNulty, a past victor at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal on a similar course, is a strong contender to watch. For the elite women, Olympic champion Kristen Faulkner (EF Education-Oatly) will lead the charge in both the road race and time trial. Faulkner, a double gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, is expected to excel in both breakaway attempts and time trial events. Making her debut at the Road World Championships is former mountain bike world champion Kate Courtney (FDJ United-Suez), who transitions to road racing after an impressive career in mountain biking, including the 2026 U.S. road title, the 2018 elite cross-country world championship, and the 2019 UCI World Cup overall title. Triathlon Olympian Taylor Knibb will also participate in the individual time trial. The women's team is further strengthened by Alexis Magner (EF-Oatly-Cannondale), Natalie Quinn (Mayenne Pro Cycling), national gravel champion Lauren Stephens (Aegis X Leaders of Enchantment), and Grace Arlandson (Aegis X Leaders of Enchantment). The development teams for U23 and junior categories are also packed with talent, featuring eight 2026 national champions such as Ashlin Barry (Visma - Lease a Bike Development), Kade Kreikemeier (Meridian Racing), Katherine Sarkisov (CCB p/b Levine Law Group Cycling), Kylee Hanel (Aegis X Leaders of Enchantment), and Enzo Hincapie (grenke - Auto Eder).
