USA Cycling Unveils Extensive 2026 National Championship Schedule

USA Cycling has officially unveiled its extensive 2026 national championship schedule, a year-long program encompassing 21 distinct events across various cycling disciplines. This comprehensive calendar is designed to offer competitive opportunities for a wide range of athletes, from elite professionals to junior, collegiate, para, and masters categories, spanning 16 states and a pioneering virtual platform.

The upcoming championship season introduces several notable changes and exciting additions. Kicking off the year in January, the esports championships will transition to TrainingPeaks Virtual, marking the beginning of a new four-year collaboration. This partnership not only provides a platform for virtual competition but also offers athletes the unique advantage of pre-riding select championship courses from the comfort of their homes, a significant advancement in preparation strategies.

Further expanding its offerings, USA Cycling will host the inaugural Collegiate Gravel Nationals in Turkey, Texas, a new event that diversifies the collegiate racing landscape. Paracycling Road Nationals will be presented as a standalone competition in Bentonville, Arkansas, while track cycling enthusiasts can look forward to Elite Track Nationals at the Velo Sports Center in Carson, California, and Junior Track Nationals at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. These specialized events underscore the organization's dedication to supporting diverse cycling communities.

June will see the return of Pro Road Nationals to Charleston, West Virginia, for elite, under-23, and junior 17–18 categories. This marks a continued partnership with Charleston, which first hosted the championships in 2024. The course features a flat time trial and a challenging road race with significant elevation gain, promising thrilling competition. Following the impressive performances of Kristen Faulkner and Quinn Simmons in 2025, anticipation is high for their potential to secure hat tricks in 2026. Additionally, Collegiate Road Nationals will be hosted by Trek Bicycle in Wisconsin for the second consecutive year, with junior and masters road racers competing in the Greater Milwaukee Area.

Later in the year, Gravel Nationals will make its return to La Crescent, Minnesota, a familiar ground where Lauren Stephens achieved her third consecutive national title in 2025 and Bradyn Lange made a breakthrough performance. The championship season will culminate in December with Cyclocross Nationals heading back to Fayetteville, Arkansas, the esteemed host city of the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championships.
