Wisconsin Extends Inland Trout Fishing Season

Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced an extended trout fishing period for the state's inland waters. This welcome change means that fishing enthusiasts will have an additional month to pursue trout, as the season now commences on April 4th and concludes on October 15th, 2026. This adjustment, which was influenced by significant public feedback and discussions during the 2025 Spring Hearings, aims to maximize recreational opportunities for anglers while ensuring sustainable management of fish populations.

The extended season specifically targets inland streams, springs, and spring ponds, areas known for their robust trout numbers.
