Zwift Unveils New Tiered Membership: Zwift Plus with Coach and Video Features

Oct 29, 2026, 6:03 PM

Zwift has rolled out a new premium membership option, Zwift Plus, which introduces two significant new functionalities: Zwift Coach and Zwift Video. This enhanced membership is available for a monthly fee of £26.99/$29.99/€29.99, while the standard membership tier maintains its current pricing structure of £17.99/$19.99/€19.99 per month. These additions are a direct response to feedback from the platform's extensive community of virtual cycling enthusiasts, aiming to provide more comprehensive training and immersive riding experiences.

A notable aspect of this launch was an event in Moab, Utah, intended to showcase the new Zwift Video features by comparing virtual routes with their real-world counterparts. However, unexpected severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and flooding, prevented outdoor riding. This led to the unusual situation of attendees traveling long distances only to engage in virtual rides indoors, highlighting the platform's utility even in adverse external conditions.

Personalized Coaching with Zwift Coach

Zwift Coach is a sophisticated training tool that generates unique and adaptable cycling programs for each user. It takes into account individual riding history, fitness objectives, desired program duration, and weekly activity commitment. The system dynamically adjusts to new inputs and changes, seamlessly integrating activities outside of Zwift, such as outdoor group rides and cross-training sessions. Following each workout, users receive detailed progress reports and performance analyses. This feature is prominently displayed within the Zwift Companion app, simplifying its integration into daily training routines and making it accessible for users to manage their fitness journeys effectively.

The foundation of Zwift’s coaching tools is built upon a mathematical model that combines established training methodologies with Zwift’s extensive dataset, which comprises over 65 million rides. This data-driven approach allows the software to create structured plans for achieving fitness targets or larger goals, ranging from as short as two weeks to as long as six months. While the software is not AI-driven for plan generation, it does leverage AI to craft personalized messages for users. This ensures that while the training is scientifically grounded, communication remains engaging and tailored. A comprehensive review of Zwift Coach is anticipated after a thorough testing period, to fully evaluate its effectiveness and user experience.

Immersive Riding with Zwift Video

Zwift Video represents another core component of the Zwift Plus offering, bringing high-definition real-world cycling routes into the virtual environment. These routes are filmed on location and seamlessly incorporate Zwift's interactive gameplay elements. The initial release introduces 21 new routes globally, adding a total of 385 kilometers of fresh, rideable virtual roads. Riders can explore diverse landscapes including the French Alps, Mallorca, Tenerife, South Africa's Western Cape, Norway's Lofoten Islands, Arches National Park in Southern Utah, and the Scottish Highlands, famous as a backdrop for the James Bond film Skyfall.

These newly introduced routes provide a diverse range of riding experiences, from flat sections to challenging climbs, and include mixed-surface options. The varying rolling resistance characteristics of these routes are designed to work effectively with advanced smart trainers, enhancing the realism of the virtual ride. Filming for Zwift Video spanned different seasons, implying that the virtual riding conditions will evolve over time, offering varied experiences to users. During personal testing, the integration of gamified elements with the video backdrops was particularly impressive, making the experience feel more interactive than merely watching a video. The system smartly downloads and buffers map segments to ensure a smooth, lag-free experience, with seamless transitions for continuous laps. This innovative approach to route creation, which is reportedly faster than building virtual worlds from scratch, suggests that more new video-based routes will be introduced in the future, further expanding Zwift’s immersive offerings.
