Lemmo 3 E-bike Achieves Over $1 Million in Crowdfunding Within 24 Hours

Nov 03, 2026, 5:55 PM

The innovative Lemmo 3 full-suspension longtail e-bike has dramatically exceeded its Kickstarter fundraising target, securing more than US$1 million in pledges in a little over 24 hours. This extraordinary success, translating to nearly £900,000, represents over 5,300% of its initial, modest goal, with a full four weeks still remaining in the campaign.

Lemmo 3 E-bike: A Triumph in Crowdfunding and Engineering

Launched by a Berlin-based team, the Lemmo 3 e-bike embarked on its design journey in 2023, undergoing rigorous prototyping and five developmental stages. The result is a sophisticated aluminum frame e-bike that has captured global attention.

A standout feature is its advanced rear suspension system, which Lemmo highlights as a major leap in passenger comfort. With 80mm of travel, hydraulic damping, and a high-load spring, the system is integrated into the Lemmo 3's unique decoupled frame architecture. This design ensures genuine rear suspension without compromising either cargo capacity or overall stability. Complementing this, the e-bike is fitted with robust 65mm-wide tires and an 80mm-travel front suspension fork, meticulously engineered to provide a consistently smooth ride across diverse terrains. An additional comfort layer is provided by a suspension seatpost, offering 20mm of travel and effortless height adjustments via a quick-release lever, making it adaptable for riders ranging from 155cm to 195cm in height.

Safety is paramount, with a Combined Braking System (CBS) managing the hydraulic disc brakes. This system intelligently distributes braking power to both wheels, facilitating shorter, safer, and more stable stops. Furthermore, the Lemmo 3 integrates high and low beam lighting, an automatic brake light, and turn indicators. A rear radar system with both visual and audible alerts enhances rider awareness of approaching traffic.

The riding experience is designed for intuitive control, resembling a standard mountain bike with familiar steering and easy maneuverability, parking, and storage. The e-bike also boasts a 700mm-long modular rear platform with MIK HD compatibility, capable of carrying up to 80kg, alongside a front rack with a 20kg capacity, and a variety of optional accessories.

For power, the Lemmo 3 employs a Bafang rear hub motor – the H550 for chain-drive models and the H732 for belt-drive versions – delivering up to 90Nm of torque. Its 960 Wh semi-solid-state battery promises an impressive range of up to 110 miles. The chain-drive system features intelligent auto-shifting, leveraging multi-sensor data to adaptively select optimal gears for a seamless and responsive ride, though manual override is always available. A belt-drive option with an internal three-gear hub is also offered.

Security measures include a frame lock, battery lock, and optional folding lock, complemented by a motion detection alarm, touchscreen passcode access, and integrated GPS tracking. Pledges for the chain-drive model begin at €2,090 (approximately £1,743), with the belt-drive version adding an extra €169 (around £141). While these prices cover import duty, UK customers will incur an additional 20% VAT and shipping costs ranging from €100-150. Shipping to backers is projected to commence in May 2027.

The overwhelming success of the Lemmo 3's crowdfunding campaign underscores a strong market appetite for innovative, feature-rich electric bicycles. It highlights how consumer trust and enthusiasm can propel a product beyond its initial financial goals, especially when it promises a blend of comfort, safety, and cutting-edge technology. This venture serves as a compelling case study for other startups, demonstrating the power of a well-conceived product and an effective crowdfunding strategy in bringing ambitious projects to fruition.
